Les Salonnières are an artist collective set up by Laura Cardona, Ester g. Mecías, Cèlia Prats, Meritxell Romanos and Marta Xibillé. Since 2006 we develop dialogical, performative and interactive projects that address issues of how different spaces, interactions and performativities define personal identity and social behavior. Our name comes from the French 18th century Salonnières from whom we take their concept of conversation as a political practice. Through performance and actions we explore different ways of exchanging experiences and producing knowledge and critical thoughts in contemporary culture. .

We produce physical, symbolic and emotive communal spaces and experiences. Our aim is to manage, organize and create events and experiences in communities by using relational dynamics and dialogical practices into a specific group of people. We especially care about people being creative, stimulated and critic within their context.

Les Salonnières have participated in artistic and educational projects, conferences about art education, workshops with Rirkrit Tiravanija or a77, collaborations with Alicia Framis and chats and performances supported by Can Xalant, Patronat de Cultural de Mataró, Universitat de Barcelona, Centre d’Art Santa Mònica, Trànsit Projectes or Disonancias.
